On May 3, 4 and 5, five students from the 3rd and 4th grades of Upper Primary and Middle School participated in the XVII Model United Nations organized by Gimnasio Los Caobos.
In Upper Elementary, Juan Pablo Lineros Suarez, Juan Antonio Klopper Gil, Isabella Duarte Amaya, Isabel Granados Caballero and María Paz Rey Guarnizo represented Rochester School in the SOCHUM and UN Ocean Conference committees.
On behalf of Middle School, José Gabriel Molano Ramírez and Jerónimo Bahamón Salazar from 5th grade and Federico Acosta Kalenatic, Matías Miraballes Galvis, Kathleen Marianne Thovinson Rodríguez and Daniela Daza Zuleta from 7th grade attended.
This is an enriching experience that allowed them to demonstrate all the Rochesterian Virtues and deal with current world issues through which they managed to have useful learning for their lives.
Despite being their first participation in a Model United Nations, the Upper Elementary students managed to have excellent performance as delegates and several of them received special recognition for their capacity for debate, research and search for solutions.
They were Isabella Duarte Amaya and María Paz Rey Guarnizo, whom received an Honorable Mention for her work in the UN Ocean Conference committee, Isabel Granados Caballero, who was elected Best External Delegate in the same committee, and Juan Antonio Klopper Gil, who was elected Best External Delegate in the SOCHUM committee.
Likewise, the Middle School team was also recognized by the different presidents with the following awards:
Federico as Best Delegate of the Damage control committee. Kathleen was best speaker of the UNEP committee and Daniela also in her General Assembly committee. Likewise, Matías received an Honorable Mention in the DISEC committee.
A very big acknowledgement to the team made up of Martha Corredor and Carlos Llanos Parias in preparing the team for their participation and support during the event.

Resumen:Los días 3, 4 y 5 de mayo cinco alumnos de los grados 3º y 4º de Primaria Alta y Escuela Media participaron en el XVII Modelo de Naciones Unidas organizado por el Gimnasio Los Caobos.
En Primaria Alta Juan Pablo Lineros Suarez, Juan Antonio Klopper Gil, Isabella Duarte Amaya, Isabel Granados Caballero y María Paz Rey Guarnizo representaron al Colegio Rochester en los comités SOCHUM y UN Ocean Conference.
Por parte de Escuela Media asistieron José Gabriel Molano Ramírez y Jerónimo Bahamón Salazar de 5º y Federico Acosta Kalenatic, Matías Miraballes Galvis, Kathleen Marianne Thovinson Rodríguez y Daniela Daza Zuleta de 7º
Esta es una experiencia enriquecedora que les permitió demostrar todas las Virtudes Rochesterianas y tratar temas de la actualidad mundial a través de lo cuál lograron tener un aprendizaje útil para su vida.
A pesar de ser su primera participación en un Modelo de Naciones Unidas los estudiantes de Primaria Alta lograron tener un excelente desempeño como delegados y varios de ellos recibieron reconocimientos especiales por su capacidad de debate, investigación y búsqueda de soluciones.
Ellos fueron Isabella Duarte Amaya y María Paz Rey Guarnizo quienes recibieron Mención de honor por su trabajo en el comité UN Ocean Conference, Isabel Granados Caballero quien fue elegida Mejor Delegada Externa en el mismo comité y Juan Antonio Klopper Gil quien fue elegido como Mejor Delegado Externo en el comité SOCHUM.

Un reconocimiento muy grande al equipo conformado por Martha Corredor y Carlos Llanos Parias en la preparación del equipo para su participación y el apoyo durante el evento.
