Development of Skills in One or More Instruments

The music class for 2nd grade A students promotes that each member of this class reaches high levels of quality, where to achieve this, they go through the learning of the themes and perfect them at the moment of teaching, themselves, to their classmates.

This provides the opportunity to use the material learned not only in moments of active score reading and vocal and instrumental interpretation, but the knowledge acquired can be deepened by supporting others to learn a variety of aspects that also lead them to polish their interpretive level. This aspect results in a class full of “little experts” who know about applied music theory and who are also citizens aware that they can collaborate in the achievement or improvement of the musical material of their peers.

Whoever sees these moments from the outside might think “what a chaos of class”, children talking in time, making “noise” with a variety of instruments, laughing, shouting with excitement for having achieved the skill they are being taught… but no, it has only been that the teacher took a step back so that they, in their own styles, have the possibility of teaching others what they know about how to interpret a section of the general musical arrangement of a song of the Colombian musical folklore.
