Christmas Celebration in 3rd Delivery of “Shared Bread”

On December 15, 2022, the Rochester School Educational Foundation, together with its Social Sustainability team, Rochester School’s Student Council, Directors and teaching and non-teaching staff, managed to make the 3rd delivery of the monthly groceries of the “Shared Bread” Program, to low-income families of the Fonquetá Educational Institution, thanks to the generous donations of families from Pre-Kindergarten to Seventh Grade, in a beautiful Christmas celebration, with the families that are part of the Program. We went to the institution and made a liturgical celebration remembering that Christmas is love, happiness, gratitude and unforgettable moments with the people we love.

The Shared Bread is a project that began last school year and has continued this year, providing food to more than 35 low-income families at the Fonquetá Educational Institution in Chía, Cundinamarca.

At a global level, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals work to achieve a better future and a better quality of life.

The “Shared Bread” initiative is added to Goal Number 2: Zero Hunger. As a Rochester School community and a global citizen, it is in our spirit to be kind, helpful and leaders for a better future.

We also believe that “it is in giving that we receive.”

For this reason, we have joined efforts to deliver food products and clothing to more than 35 families from the Fonquetá Educational Institution in Chía.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta said: “If you can’t feed 100 people, feed 100 people, feed one.”

Congratulations to the Rochester School Educational Foundation and its Social Sustainability area, as well as to each one of the representatives of the Student Council, to the school’s directors, and to the parents from Pre-Kindergarten to Seventh Grade, for their collaboration to deliver these monthly gestures of love.

Thank you very much to all those who day by day contributed with their donations! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
