It is a joy for the Social Sciences Area to confirm that the RMUN XVII model will take place on April 28 and 29. With the motto: “Shaping the Future” that summarizes the intention of this year’s model, we hope that the students of the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh grades decide to take this opportunity to demonstrate their competence in: solving real problems, being optimally informed, being systemic when thinking and acting and leading; through the exercise of building consensual solutions, debate and empathetic listening, activities that have always defined the spirit of RMUN over the years.
We want to thank all the Twelfth Grade candidates who presented their candidacy for the role of General Secretaries, their proposals showed that the RMUN model is in the quality world of our students and we also want to congratulate the students: Carolina Abaunza, María Alejandra Salamanca and Sofía Granados, who after responding to the call and attending an interview with the other candidates, in which the Rector, Alethia Bogoya, the Director of High School Relations, Sally Torres, the Academic Director, Dana Pao, and the Curriculum Director of Social Sciences, Milena Caballero, successfully presented and argued their proposals.
We then add in this message, the words of presentation and welcome to the RMUN XVII 2022 Model, which the General Secretaries: Carolina Abaunza, María Alejandra Salamanca and Sofía Granados want to send to the Rochesterian community:
In this Model we want: to achieve a totally healthy and serious environment at the time of the debate, to achieve a high academic level in each Committee at the time of debate and to be able to leave a solid base for the next Secretaries General so that they can continue to improve in the future models. We want to express that the opportunity to lead a project like this is a great honor, and we will do our best to meet the expectations. This Model of the United Nations will become one of the most important events of our student experience, thus, we will give our maximum effort to ensure that the expectations of this model are completed to the maximum possible.

Resumen: Es una alegría para el Área de Ciencias Sociales confirmar que el modelo RMUN XVII se llevará a cabo el día 28 y 29 de abril. Con el lema: “Shaping the Future” que resume la intención del modelo de este año, deseamos que los estudiantes de los grados Octavo, Noveno y Décimo decidan tomar esta oportunidad para demostrar sus competencia en: resolución de problemas reales, informarse óptimamente, ser sistémicos al pensar y actuar y liderar; a través del ejercicio de la construcción de soluciones consensuadas, el debate y la escucha empática, actividades que siempre han definido al espíritu de RMUN a lo largo de los años.
Queremos agradecer a todos los candidatos de Grado Undécimo que presentaron su candidatura al rol de Secretarios/as Generales, sus propuestas demostraron que el modelo RMUN se encuentra en el mundo de calidad de nuestros estudiantes y también, queremos felicitar a los estudiantes: Carolina Abaunza, María Alejandra Salamanca y Sofía Granados, que luego de responder a la convocatoria y asistir a una entrevista con los demás candidatos, en la que participaron la Rectora, Alethia Bogoya, la Directora de Relaciones de Bachillerato, Sally Torres, la Directora Académica, Dana Pao y la Directora Curricular de Ciencias Sociales, Milena Caballero, presentaron y argumentaron de manera exitosa sus propuestas.
Añadimos entonces en este mensaje, las palabras de presentación y bienvenida al Modelo RMUN XVII 2022, que las Secretarias Generales: Carolina Abaunza, María Alejandra Salamanca y Sofía Granados quieren enviar a la comunidad Rochesteriana:
En este Modelo queremos: lograr un ambiente totalmente sano y serio a la hora del debate, lograr un alto nivel académico en cada Comité a la hora de debatir y poder dejar una base sólida a los próximos Secretarios Generales para que estos puedan seguir mejorando en los futuros modelos. Queremos expresar que la oportunidad de poder liderar un proyecto como este es un gran honor, y haremos lo mejor posible para que las expectativas sean cumplidas. Este Modelo de las Naciones Unidas se convertirá en uno de los eventos más importantes de nuestra experiencia estudiantil, así, daremos nuestro máximo esfuerzo para lograr que las expectativas de este modelo lleguen a completarse a su máximo posible.
