On Friday, September 29th, Prekindergarten A students hosted the first Flag Raising of the year.
This was an introduction to a solemn celebration where they sang the National Anthem, Chía, and Rochester School’s Anthem, made the Pledge of Allegiance , practiced and modeled expected behaviors in this type of event, discussed the level constitution with a role play named “Done and Not Done”, and finally performed the short but fun song, Tito Tiburón, which was related to our Ocean Project, and made a connection to what caring friends do for one another.
During our Flag Raising 6 PK and 2 Baby Lions’ students were distinguished for being Caring and Kind, and received a Certificate to congratulate their achievement.
These students are:
PKA: Julieta Alvarado and Benjamín Flórez PKB: Antonia Parga and Simón Rodríguez PKC: Emma Asprilla and Nicolás Castro Baby Lions: Martina Bernal and Renata León

El pasado viernes 29 de Septiembre, los estudiantes de Prejardín A llevaron a cabo la primera Izada de Bandera del Año.
Esta fue una introducción a lo que es una ceremonia solemne en donde cantaron los himnos de Colombia, Chía, y del Colegio Rochester, realizaron el Juramento a la Bandera, practicaron y modelaron los comportamientos esperados en este tipo de evento, discutieron le Constitución de Preescolar a través de un juego de roles llamado “Se hace, No se hace!”, y finalmente cantaron la canción Tito Tiburón, la cual está relacionada con nuestro proyecto integrado sobre el mar, y hace una conexión con lo que un amigo amable hace por los demás.
Durante la izada de bandera se reconocieron 6 estudiantes de Prejardín y 2 de Baby Lions quienes se destacaron por ser amables, y recibieron un certificado para felicitar su gran desempeño.
