Building a safe and reliable environment

In order to internalize the expected behaviors inside and outside the classroom to build a safe and reliable environment, Pre-kindergarten students, with the help of their family coordinators, were able to creatively identify the different animals and highlight their characteristics.

The owl represents the importance of listening and replicating the signal of silence; the giraffe, the importance of following instructions; the ant, the importance of standing in line; the meerkat, the importance of posture in the work chair; the bee, the importance of quality work; the dog, the importance of being courteous and kind to others; the turtle, the importance of following biosafety protocols; the frog, the importance of caring for nature; the monkey, the importance of the places to play;  the bear, the importance of table manners and healthy food; and the kangaroo, the importance of taking care of personal items.

Gradually, and with the help of the teaching team and their peers, the children went beyond expectations identifying the expected behaviors inside and outside the classroom to build a safe and trustworthy environment.
